Bio

Anzio September is an actor based in Cape Town, he graduated from UCT with a BA (Hons.) in Theatre and Performance. His theatre performances include  RENT! As ‘Angel’ (2017-2018) Marc Lottering’s Aunty Merle The Musical as ‘Carl’(2018-2019),  Aunty Merle, It’s A Girl as ‘Carl’ (2019-2021) and Aunty Merle, Things Get Real! As ‘Zane’ (2023- 2024) He featured in David Kramers’ Danger in The Dark (2021) as a dancer in the ensemble. He worked with Loukmaan Adams in ‘Living Coloured’ based on the writer Yusuf Daniels’ life. (2021)

Anzio had a role in Arendsvlei as the sly JP Hendrick (2022-2023). Since then has done international work appearing in the docu-dramas, TV Commercials. He also features on Netflix’s TV series Fatal Seduction as ‘Rajesh’. 

He also collaborated with Craig Lucas and appeared in his music video ‘Hearts Exposed’.

Anzio was nominated in 2023 for a 58th Fleur Du Cap for his role as Zane in Aunty Merle, Things Get Real!

He was also nominated for a Naledi Theatre award for his role as Carl in Aunty Merle, The Musical in 2018.

This year, 2025, Anzio lead a one man show ‘Please, Don’t Call Me Moffie’, written by the exceptional Zubayr Charles which received a resounding success at Artcsapes Suidoosterfees this year, selling out both shows months in advance. 

Anzio will be working with Zubayr again in ‘This Bra’s A Psycho’ a crime-thriller in August at Artscape. Another project that had audiences hooked and at the edge of their seat when we presented it at New Voices festival at Artscape.

Anzio  played the role of Aladdin in AlADDIN The Musical at the Canal Walk Theatre in partnership with Abrahamse&Meyer productions and Canal Walk.

In 2025-2026 Anzio was involved in COLLEEN , The Musical another production by Lottering where he played Craig Thebus aka Polony boy.

‘Please don’t call me moffie’ toured to KKNK 2026 and received great reviews, will be returning to Artcsape this year June for a full run.

At Artscapes 2026 Suidoosterfees Anzio will be acting alongside Marcel Meyer and Dean Balie in JAKOPREGOP , Hennie Aucamps world premiere of his very naughty play. Also debuting at Suidoosterfees is ‘Ek en Jy, Tot Laat Toe’ a beautiful story about friendship and grievance written by Zubayr Charles and directed by Carlo Daniels.
