Thato was born and raised in the ‘City of Roses’, Bloemfontein. He has a deep passion for acting and the world of cinema. Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in live performance, including an Undergraduate Discipline Merit Award for Screen Acting, at AFDA Cape Town. 

Growing up in a place where there is not much provision for artists to practice and perform their art, he felt he needed to be in a place where such opportunities are plentiful. A bigger city with a bigger personality.

He has been introduced to the world of Documentary, Commercial and Movie making, feeling what it's like being in different dynamics, working with exceptional individuals and also being in front of the camera.

He believes that when stepping in environments like this, you need to reinvigorate yourself and just let go of your worries and doubts. Most people give up easily, remember to be consistent, be clear on what you want, get used to uncertainty, stick around long enough, ask questions and experiment where you can.
