Sidwell Ralitsoele was born in Lesotho to South African parents. At the age of 13, he and his family moved to Queens, New York where they stayed for 5 ½ years. During this time his father worked for the United Nations as an economic counsellor. In 2001, the family relocated to Tripoli, Libya where his father served as the first Ambassador of Lesotho. It was through this international upbringing and exposure to diverse cultures during his formative years that Sidwell’s love for acting, storytelling, and music began to take shape.
At 21, Sidwell moved to Cape Town, South Africa, where he studied small business management. This led to opportunities managing retails stores, including Vans, before eventually pursing his passion for performance.
In 2015, he joined a boutique acting agency, through which he landed his first acting role in the American crime series Killer instinct as Haymond Boyton. From there, he secured a role in the criticality acclaimed Netflix series 'The Crown', working with director Stephen Daldry alongside Claire Foy and Matt Smith. In 2022, he appeared in the Apple TV series Invasion, directed by Alik Sakharov and starring Shamier Anderson. In 2024, Sidwell featured in the local the local Showmax crime series Catch me Killer and also collaborated with director Ryan Kruger on the reimagining of Street Trash.
Beyond acting, Sidwell continues to expand his creative footprint through his production company, New Vessels Productions, which he co-founded with actor and business partner Yonda Thomas. Together, they are developing original stories with many more projects set to unfold.
