Mikkie-dené Le Roux is a South African Filmmaker and Actor with a master’s degree in Acting for Screen from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London (2024).
After graduating with a Performers Diploma from The University of Cape Town (2011), she developed her acting career on the stage and the screen. Her most notable work includes; The Power (Amazon Studios), Raised by Wolves (HBO Max) and Black Mirror (Netflix).
In 2019 Mikkie-dené co-founded OYA PICTURES with Electra Hartman. Together they have collaborated to create relatable, local, and some-times ‘off-the-wall’ narratives to build a body of work that speaks to who they are and their artistic sensibilities. Through their work they aim to cultivate a community of storytellers while unearthing the diverse realities across race, gender, and socio-political environments within the South African context and abroad. With OYA PICTURES Mikkie-dené has acquired skills in producing, writing and directing. OYA PICTURE's latest work, Transmission (pilot), won at the NYCWebFest in New York (2024).
Mikkie-dené is the Co-Producer, Writer and Director of her latest short film, No End Lane. The short film embodies her final dissertation project at RCSSD and is currently on the festival circuit.
