Sara-Jayne Makwala King is a award-winning radio presenter, best-selling author, journalist and public speaker whose career spans two decades and four continents.
Makwala King is the author of the award-nominated novels Killing Karoline (2017) and Mad Bad Love (2022). Her writing explores complex and deeply personal themes including race, identity, adoption, addiction, recovery, and mental health. Through her storytelling, she offers thoughtful reflections on social issues while engaging readers with powerful narratives.
Academically, Makwala King holds an LLB (Hons) degree from the University of Greenwich (2004) and a Master’s degree in Journalism from University of Canterbury (2005). Her education laid the foundation for a dynamic career in journalism and broadcasting.
She currently lives in Cape Town, South Africa, where she hosts her own show on CapeTalk radio.
