About Me
GENERAL DETAILS
Comedic Skits, Sports Broadcaster, Sports Personality, Stand-Up Comedian, Trained Actor
Dalin Oliver is a South African comedian, radio sports broadcaster and podcaster.
Oliver’s off to Perth to make his debut at FRINGE WORLD, the world’s third largest arts festival where he’ll be performing his laugh-A-line stand-up comedy show 90 Day Comedian. This is on the back end of his self-produced 5 city tour of Australia, where he delivered gags tight enough to get past border control in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast & Brisbane. He left his mark down under with a total of 54 performances and returned home to full houses at his run at the Artscape in Cape Town.
The National Arts Festival Standard Bank Ovation Award Winner’s finest work has been enjoyed on Showmax, DSTv, Comedy Central Africa and in cinemas nationwide. Other career highlights include five one man shows, performances at the Jive Cape Town Funny Festival, Johannesburg International Comedy Festival as well as in Toronto Canada with the award-winning Ensemble show; Day Zero: The Water Shortage Comedy Tour.
With more than 10 years in stand-up comedy and sports broadcasting, Oliver has managed to merge the two worlds extremely well. He got the nod to host his own sports show; The Late Late Tackle with Dalin Oliver. It’s the newest talk show on the block with four-time Rugby World Cup Champions, the Springboks. The first season was a limited edition six-part series which aired on MTN’s BokSquad, the official home of the fans, prior to the team departing for the world cup in France.
He’s a staple part of Cape Town’s daily morning breakfast routine as the Sports Presenter on Good Hope FM’s Breakfast show, where his colourful delivery and on-air comedic flair earned him a sports presenter of the year and best breakfast show nomination at the SA Radio Awards. Another feather in his cap was his Comics Choice Award nominated weekly comedy show, Happy Hour - a first of its kind for the radio station.
He also forms one half of Non-Travelling Reserves, a sports podcast balanced with facts, comedy and banter between friends, which was recognized at the DSTV Content Creator Awards with a Podcast of the Year nomination.
When the dynamic performer is not on stage or on-air, he can be rocking the mic on or off camera – at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, Netball World Cup, SA20 and with the MI Cape Town, DHL Stormers and Springboks family.
From South Africa to the world, Thanks for being an amazing human.
