Mekaila Mathys is a multi-talented triple threat born & raised in Cape Town, South Africa. Her passion for performing arts dates back to her early childhood where she grew up in a musical family. With a strong love for dancing coupled with extensive training, she received her South African colours for Hip Hop dancing at the age of 15. Throughout her high school career, she had a keen interest & involvement in drama, art, choir & dance which would later prove to have set her up for a promising future.

After school, her love for theatre and film led her to partake in many NGO & NPO plays & productions for the community, including the likes of David Kramers ‘Danger in the dark’. Mekaila has been active in the film & entertainment industry since 2011 having done numerous international tv commercials with some of the worlds leading brands. She is no stranger to our tv screens, having played roles ranging from the mysterious Dominique Victor in Arendsvlei to Headgirl of Parkhurst High, Tahira Kahn in the Netflix series ‘Blood & Water’. She is sure to continue playing roles that are diverse & that challenge her, both locally & internationally.

With a much loved following on social media, she aims to share in her love for food, adventure, travel, lifestyle & all things entertainment. Through her content some of the more wholesome aspects of her everyday life can be seen & experienced as she always aims to ‘keep it real’.
