Zenobia Kloppers is a South African (Namibian-born) actress, singer, author, director and producer.
She is best known for her role as the iconic Fiela Komoetie in the award-winning feature film “Fiela se Kind” / “Fiela’s Child” (2019), which earned her a Best Actress award at the South African Independent Film Festival (SAIFF) (2020) and Best Actress nominations for the South African Film & Television (SAFTA) Awards (2020), the African Movie Academy Awards (AAMA) (2020), and the kykNET Silwerskerm Awards (2019).
Zenobia has appeared in numerous South African television drama’s, including: the internationally acclaimed series, “Spinners” (2023) on Showmax; the teen mystery/drama, “Blood & Water” (2021) on Netflix; as well as recurring roles in the popular soap opera, “Suidooster” (since 2019) and telenovela, “Arendsvlei” (since 2019) on kykNET and kykNET & kie, amoung others.
Zenobia made her professional stage debut in the first-ever Afrikaans musical drama, “Antjie Somers” (2000), based on local folklore. Her critically-acclaimed roots-inspired play, “Klarabelle gaan Kaap toe” / “Klarabelle goes to the Cape” (2002), made history at the Artscape Theatre Centre “with the staging of the first Khoi play in Afrikaans” (directed by Monique Seigels).
She went on to earn Best Performance nominations for the prestigious Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards (2006) and Naledi Theatre Awards (2006) for her portrayal of Dina in the award-winning Kramer/Peterson musical, “Ghoema” (“Spice Drum Beat: Ghoema”) about slavery at the Cape of Good Hope.
Zenobia continues to work prolifically in television, film, theatre and radio drama, as well as co-authoring several academic publications and screenplays.
